OVERVIEW
I offer individual online tuition using Skype for Business which provides a greater range of features than Skype.
Apart from file sharing and video communication, Skype for Business also contains a range of other useful features including:
- An interactive electronic whiteboard that can be contributed to by both tutor and student while being viewed by both in real time
- Ability to show what is displaying on the tutor's screen or the student's screen
- Ability to present and annotate PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to present programs and co-author office documents
- Ability to add attachments and share notes
- All of the above would be accompanied by two way audio and video communication in real time
Every online student at Quantum Tuition is provided with a Skype for Business account and a Microsoft Office online account which remains active while they are paying customers.
A range of online Microsoft Office applications are available for students to use. Some of these apps include:
- Calendar (Used for booking lessons)
- OneDrive (Used to access shared files)
- OneNote
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
I use a touch screen and stylus pen to write and draw in free hand using the interactive electronic whiteboard, OneNote and PowerPoint presentations in real time whilst being viewed by the student. While there are advantages to the student also using a touch screen, it is not essential. Skype for Business can operate on a Windows or a Mac desktop or laptop. It can also operate on a tablet or ipad.
